GunLakeBC.ca SITE INFORMATION
Gun Lake BC

Welcome to the new site! Things have moved around a little and some new content has been added. The Winter Reports Trail, History, Events, Road and School pages have been moved to SouthChilcotin.ca and this site is now just for Gun stuff. New pages include the Gun Lake Ratepayers explaining who they are, what they do, when they meet and important pages dedicated to Water and Fire Issues around the lake.

Thank you to all the businesses who have advertised with us in the first year of the webcam. We couldn't have done it without you! Please support them and visit the Local Services Directory to find out where to stay, what to do and who can do what around here! A big thanks to Minto Communications Society for bringing high speed internet to the valley!

The webcam is looking N/NW up Gun Lake at Cinnabar Ridge/Mt Zorba (foreground) to the left and the Shulaps Range to the right. Pearson Ridge is in the foreground at the end of the lake.

The position of the sun will cause the image to look bright or dark.
Afternoon is the best viewing time when the sun is behind the camera.
Images are uploaded every 30 seconds from sunrise to sunset.
A Time Lapse Movie is created of the days weather where an image is captured every 10 minute

The Weather Station appears on top of the image with the current temperature, humidity and barometer reading. The temp reads a couple of deg. warmer than it actually is from the heat of the camera. The temp on the South Chilcotin Cam is accurate for it's location.

CAN'T SEE THE WEBCAM IMAGE?
This web site requires Java and Flash to see some images such as the home page navigation, webcam, slideshow and time lapse movie. Click on program to download. Active X may need to be enabled. If you have the latest version of Java and still can't see the webcam image try refreshing or restarting your browser. Always make sure you are running the latest version of your browser. We like using Firefox. If you are using Internet Explorer 6, things may not be working right and seriously, it's time for an upgrade! If the webcam image is not refreshing we may be experiencing a power outage.

Photography is by Mike Jensen, a local Gun Lake resident. Images are not to be used or reproduced without permission.
